ARE THE ANTI-LABOR FORCES WINNING THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?

When we look at the media landscape we find Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Shawn Hannity, Mark Levin, Alex jones, Anne Coulter, Joe Scarborough, Fox News, and scores of right wing pundits – all of whom are constantly spreading anti-labor propaganda to the public.

Behind the scenes there is a long list of well funded anti-labor organizations such as American Crossroads, FreedomWorks, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Right to Work Foundation, the Center for Union Facts, and many many more, all of which are actively working to promote anti-labor attitudes and push for anti-labor legislation.

The effect of this constant barrage of anti-labor propaganda can be seen when one speaks to people all across America who express anti-labor views, even as they enjoy the benefits brought to them by labor.

AND WHO IS SPEAKING FOR LABOR IN AMERICAN MEDIA?

Hardly a pro-labor voice can be found. The anti-labor forces are winning the war for the hearts and minds of the American people.

The history of the American labor movement is filled with incredibly dramatic stories that portray union workers as heroes who acted with bravery and courage, who stood up against power, who sacrificed and often died to bring a better standard of living to all Americans.

The true story of the American labor movement is a perfect vehicle from which to create exciting and engaging entertainment. Yet very few people know anything about that history. Even union members usually know little of their own proud history.

The Strength In Union film series will combat anti-union propaganda and make the public aware of the true history of labor. It will present union workers in a heroic light as men and women who have sacrificed for the public good. It will use engaging entertainment to educate the public on the many rights and benefits unions have given to all workers, such as weekends, 8-hour work days, sick days, health and retirement benefits, safety regulations, etc. And it will create an emotional connection and personal identification with the labor movement for people all across America.

WHY YOUR UNION SHOULD SPONSOR STRENGTH IN UNION:

Usually educational films are funded by grants from corporate donors, but many corporate donors do not want to see the Strength In Union film completed and reaching the public.

It is important that labor stands with those who are supporting their cause. If labor does not support the telling of the own their own story, who will? In order for the film to be a success financial support is desperately needed.

THE DETERMINATION OF THE PRODUCTION TEAM:

For the last two years film director Caeser Pink, the film’s producers, and a long list of volunteers have worked for free and made personal sacrifices to see that this important story is told. Caeser Pink recently spent three weeks driving across the United States, sleeping in his car and showering at trucks stops, while shooting at locations such as Los Angeles, CA, Keene, CA, Ludlow, CO, Detroit, Flint, and Lansing MI, Chicago and Pullman, IL. While filming in Chicago $6,000 worth of Arete Living Arts' film equipment was stolen from the truck.

The production team’s personal determination and perseverance have carried the film a long way with little financial support. As of this time the production team has interviewed 90 top labor leaders, distinguished historians and professors of labor studies, non-profit and workers center activists, and celebrity and labor related media personalities. The depth of research and scope of participants in the project goes far beyond what most filmmakers put into the their documentary productions.
